Die Karl-Heine-Straße ist zwischen Zschocherscher Straße und König Albert Brücke großzügig mit breiten Gehwegen in Form eines Boulevards angelegt. Sie gilt als das Herz des Leipziger Westens. Noch in den ersten Jahren des 21. Jahrhunderts war sie ein von Verfall geprägtes ehemaliges Industrieviertel. Heute erlebt sie einen Wandel hin zu einem lebendigen und kulturell geprägten Quartier.

Die Schaubühne Lindenfels als gemeinnützige Aktiengesellschaft ist Träger und Organisator des Boulevard-Heine-Stadtteilfest. Gemeinsam mit Akteuren aus dem Stadtteil, Gewerbetreibenden und mit Unterstützung der Stadt Leipzig und weiterer Förderer soll dieses ungewöhnliche Stadtentwicklungsinstrument dauerhaft etabliert werden.
